Crypto trading tax free in Portugal! Portugal’s tax authority has confirmed that cryptocurrency trading and payments are tax-free.
Jornal de Negocios first reported the news earlier this week. According to the Jornal de Negocios, the tax authority has said that both cryptocurrency trading in real currencies and re-enumeration in cryptocurrencies are exempt from value-added tax (VAT).
The clarification was given to a local cryptocurrency mining company via an official ruling document. Cryptocurrency earnings in Portugal are also income-tax free according to the report.
