PewDiePie shills ponzi scheme and Tron cryptocurrencies! PewDiePie shills Ponzi scheme blockchain “project” DLive and TRON. Felix Kjellberg’s credibility is being questioned.
Felix Kjellberg, better known by his YouTube handle PewDiePie, was shilling cryptocurrency projects earlier this week. Kjellberg himself explains that he was merely celebrating DLive joining the BitTorrent family. For context, DLive will be joining the BitTorrent ecosystem, and BitTorrent is owned by the TRON Foundation as of 2018.
DLive alleges to be a decentralized streaming platform powered by Lino, its native “cryptocurrency”. Part of the appeal for DLive is that streamers earn most of their earnings while blockchain stakeholders take a small cut. There are two major issues with this approach.
- Creators get paid in… what exactly?
- How exactly does DLive make any money?
Lino is DLive’s proprietary currency – there is no market that supports it outside of the platform. You can’t buy or sell on your favorite exchange because they move via third party. Or if their system’s down, you can’t buy or sell them at all.
The only thing that can speak to Kjellberg’s motives is that Google and YouTube have been known for censorship and demonetization schemes.
