Paypal axes PornHub relationship! Paypal axes PornHub relationship could give Verge a rise. In a blog post Thursday, Pornhub wrote a response.
“We are all devastated by PayPal’s decision to stop payouts to over a hundred thousand performers who rely on them for their livelihoods.”
The company has asked their models who use PayPal options on their accounts to use one of its other provided methods of paying out. These options include direct deposits, checks, and Verge, a cryptocurrency.
PornHub announced that they would be accepting Verge payments in April of last year, saying it offered their users privacy and convenience. The site also accepts Tron and ZCash as of last June – although these options have not been passed on as a payment method for performers.
With PayPal out of the game, PornHub performers may be turning towards cryptocurrency as an option – especially since bank accounts might get frozen if banks get a hint that porn is related to the payments.
Verge, which hit a high during the 2017 bull run, is trading well below its high at around $0.0038. However, enthusiasm for the use of the cryptocurrency might be dampened by the fact that knowledge is not quite at mass adoption levels in terms of how to receive, send, and convert cryptocurrencies into traditional fiat currencies.
Dedicated adult industry crypto project SpankChain tweeted: “Clearly somebody deserves to be Spanked.”
