Kleiman v Wright jury trial proceeds! The Kleiman v Wright jury trial has been moved to October 13th!
The delay was confirmed under Administrative Order 2020-41, which pushed all jury trials in the Southern District of Florida’s District Court until October 13th.
The order details the Court’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It seeks to aid the stressed judicial system and reducing community infection risks posed by gatherings in courtrooms.
Judges are able to hold hearings and conferences with counsel at their discretion. Outstanding pre-trial matters in the lawsuit should be unaffected.
This delay is just another in this near 3 year court case. The trial was supposed to take place in July, before it was delayed to August, and now has been postponed until October. COVID-19 has already disrupted the Kleiman proceedings, with depositions being taken remotely.
The specifics of the trial will be addressed in a call with Counsel on October 6th. The trial is currently scheduled to begin at 9AM est on October 13th.
