Today, Google formally announced they will BAN all cryptocurrency related ads. It goes beyond just ICOs, this is anything and everything to do with Crypto!!
So now we have Facebook, Google, and Youtube silencing cryptocurrency related content. There are also reports of Twitter banning crypto related accounts.
On top of this, I have been listening to the US Congressional Meeting regarding Cryptocurrency and ICOs today. The ignorance here is STRONG! Here are some statements made by one of the representatives….
Brad Sherman (democratic representative from California) was saying things like,
“Why would I need cryptocurrency to pay for groceries when I can just use dollars”
He was explaining how cryptocurrency is a ‘crock’ and no different than fiat. People should just use their bank account, “I’ve lived my whole life without needing cryptocurrency.”
Sherman – “Cryptocurrency is only used to fund illicit activities and terrorist attacks”
FALSE – FIAT has funded the MOST terrorist attacks.
Sherman – “Maybe we will have another meeting after some terrorist attack financed by cryptocurrency”
Sherman – “They’re popular with guys who sit in their pajamas and tell their wives they’re going to be millionaires”
What do you think of statements like these being made about cryptocurrency?
Has anyone else been listening to the hearing today?
I think they are working to come up with a regulatory solution, but still don’t know which direction to go in. Many of them have little knowledge about Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, or blockchain technology. We still have quite a way to go!!
