He was an early investor in Facebook, Uber, and Coinbase – so he’s not a stranger to cryptocurrency. Each NFT will include a smart contract that includes metadata so he can interact with buyers. One way he plans to interact with buyers is through an annual event dubbed VeeCon. Token holders will be given exclusive access for three years after purchase.
The NFTs will go on sale via a Dutch auction, which allows any investor, institutional or individual, to place a bud at a certain price without knowing what others are offering to pay.
NFTs have boomed in popularity this year. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey sold the first ever tweet for over $2.9 million dollars on the “Valuables” platform run by Cent. Beeple’s virtual work eventually sold for $69 million through the auction house Christie’s.
Vaynerchuk said that a portion of revenues from the token sale will go to charity, and give tokens include access to a scholarship that allows the holder to learn from the VaynerMedia CEO and his professional network.
