Nvidia is currently facing a lawsuit over claims that the company mislead in their revenues and earnings – claims that the company denies. They are trying to throw the suit out, but will have to explain itself in front of a court.
Law enforcement officials in Curitiba managed to stop a Brazilian gang – but not before they successfully stole $359 million dollars in investor funds. There are reportedly 5,000 victims of the scam – it’s not clear if they’ll be able to get their funds or not.
Bitmain continues to be in the news over their mismanagement. Micree Zhan and Jihan Wu continue their petty fight – decreeing this and that against one another. Wu’s latest was ordering the company to ignore anything Zhan said or did. Zhan is currently fighting to get his day at court, while Wu is staking his claim by reeling in clients.
BitMEX has had a PR problem – we’ve known this for over a year now. An investor is now suing for $300 million dollars, alleging that the company and its founder, Arthur Hayes, has engaged in fraud against the claimant, Frank Amato. He claims that he invested over $30,000 when the company was getting started that would result in an equity stake. Today, that equity is worth $50 million – he’s seeking $50 million plus $200 million dollars in punitive damages.
Cryptopia’s infamous hack has left the caretakers trying to clean up the mess in a tizzy. Grant Thornton has been able to recover portions of the more than $15 million that was stolen. All of the expenses will be deducted from possible payouts, reducing what creditors will actually be able to pocket after the company is sold in bits and pieces.
