CoinText, a Cryptotraders Pro favorite and popular SMS cryptocurrency wallet service, has recently added support for two new cryptocurrencies in Canada and the US – Litecoin (LTC) and Dash. Cointext used to support just Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and our own Kurt Wuckert Jr. has developed a wonderful relationship between Cointext and Cryptotraders Pro. This new update by Cointext will undoubtedly make it easier for people to adopt cryptocurrency.
According to a press release, CoinText lets users instantly send cryptocurrency (BCH) to anyone through a mobile phone number or a crypto BCH address. Its goal is to help bring new users and make the process of sending and receive cryptocurrency significantly easier. There is no need to download an app or register an account.
The company’s founder and lead developer, Vin Armani, was quoted as saying: “CoinText makes sending cryptocurrency as easy as sending a text message. It’s a powerful tool for communities to spread adoption of their cryptocurrency.”
CoinText launched in March of this year, but only offered BCH. However, since CoinText is “coin agnostic”, the move to expand and add other cryptocurrencies is just a natural evolution for this company. Kurt and Matt discussed an idea similar to this at length on the latest podcast by CryptoTraders Pro, where they remarked how infighting and factions dividing cryptocurrency by different coins isn’t progress, it’s regressive.
Armani added that CoinText’s ultimate goal is to “empower people to use cryptocurrency as cash.” He justified adding LTC and dash instead of other crypto coins as the communities of these cryptos were “asking for this service for a while.”
To start using CoinText, users in the US and Canada will have to text a specific number “START.” CoinText’s offerings with BCH are already available in 20 countries, including Spain, the UK, South Africa, Chile, and Australia.
The press release suggested that the company may soon add other cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC). This development comes at a time in which BCH is quickly gaining steam due to Bitmain, a major BCH advocate, filing for an IPO.
Although BCH is steaming forward, most cryptocurrencies are waiting for movement and direction from BTC, the industry leading cryptocurrency by marketcap.
We here at CryptoTraders Pro are proud of our friendship with CoinText. We produced the video on CoinText’s website here. Follow CTP’s BCH advocate Kurt on Twitter, and don’t forget to visit us on our website and let us know what you think on Facebook!
