Coinbase Card launches waitlist for US customers!   Coinbase Card will be a debit Visa Card that will allow customers to spend cryptocurrency anywhere Visa cards are accepted.  Coinbase claims it’s “the easiest, quickest way to spend your crypto worldwide.”  This was was previously available in Europe only.

There are numerous debit cards around the world that allow you to spend cryptocurrency, but most platforms require you to load funds into the card first.  The Coinbase Card eliminates the middleman and pulls funds directly from your Coinbase account.

There is an optional rewards program THATS only available to US customers for now.   You can choose to earn 4% back in XLM or 1% back in Bitcoin.   There isn’t an issuance fee, but Coinbase has confirmed that conversion fees may apply.

Through the Coinbase app, you would be able to keep track of recent transactions and rewards earnings.

If you’re interested, you can join the waitlist via the Coinbase app.   There will be a wait – the first customers will be approved this winter.   Coinbase will issue a virtual card with a physical card arriving shortly thereafter.   It goes without saying that users will have to have a verified Coinbase account.
