Coinbase adds Dash trading! The United States-based cryptocurrency announces that support for Dash is forthcoming within the week.
According to a Medium post published by Coinbase on Sept. 12, Coinbase Pro will be accepting DASH deposits starting Monday. There will be 12 hours of deposit enabled minimum before full trading is activated. The launch for DASH trading will begin 9 AM PST on September 17th.
“Once sufficient supply of DASH is established on the platform, trading on the DASH/USD, and DASH/BTC order books will start in phases, beginning with post-only mode and proceeding to full trading should our metrics for a healthy market be met.”
Coinbase adds Dash trading at a point where scrutiny over Cryptocurrency is rising. To this end, not everyone will be able to trade Dash. The excluded areas include the state of New York and the United Kingdom, as well as other additional regions that may be added to the list at a later date.
Coinbase acknowledges that while DASH is a Cryptocurrency optimize for payments, because of the privacy features, the exchange will not support them “at this time.” The post also acknowledged that DASH is accepted worldwide at over 4,000 merchants worldwide.
