Brave Browser Developing Crypto Wallet! It has been announced that the Brave Browser will be integrating a crypto wallet for Ethereum and BAT!
Brave Browser developing a crypto wallet is not totally unexpected, as Brave Browser is a web browser that uses a cryptocurrency, BAT, as its native cryptocurrency. The wallet is expected to support ERC-20 tokens, collectibles, and Ether, according to the company via a blog post. Additionally, the wallet will support interactions with decentralized applications, known as DApps. This means that Brave will be a Web3 browser.
Unfortunately, at this time, the wallet will be unable to interact with Brave Rewards, meaning that users cannot transfer any BAT between Brave Rewards and Crypto Wallets, the name of Brave’s wallet in development. Users will be responsible for managing keys themselves – Brave recommends that users “stick to small amounts and keep regular backups” if they want to try out the trial version of Crypto Wallets.
Compatibility between Brave Rewards and Crypto Wallets will be forthcoming, however. The company also plans to support Uphold for its wallet, which means that users will reportedly be able to transfer crypto assets between their Uphold account, Brave Rewards, and Crypto Wallets.
