BitMex Emails leaked! BitMex Emails have been compromised – exposing their users emails by forgetting to use BCC on a mass email. BitMex has acknowledged the situation via an official statement today.
The recipient of the original email was a staff member – it has been independently verified by CoinTelegraph’s editorial team in Japan.
In a tweet posted on Nov 1st, Jake Chervinsky characterized BitMex’s accidental email exposure via a simple error as “outrageously incompetent”.
BitMEX just doxxed its users in the most outrageously incompetent way imaginable: forgetting to use blind copy on mass email. Someone must be cleaning out their desk already. https://t.co/KmARzImxnk

Concerned community members have pointed out that the leak makes Bitmex account holders potential targets for hackers – the emails themselves serving as a “puzzle piece” for attackers.
BitMex has replied and announced a statement, saying:
“Our have have acted immediately to contain the issue and we are taking steps to understand the extent of the impact. Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to identify the root cause of the fault and we will be in touch with any users affected by the issue.”
Following the news of the leak, Binance advised all BitMex users who also hold an account on Binance to change their Binance emails immediately.
