Alipay wrote:
“If any transactions are identified as being related to bitcoin or other virtual currencies, @Alipay immediately stops the relevant payment services.”
The move comes amidst various reports that Alipay is being used for Bitcoin transactions.
Yesterday, Binance confirmed on Twitter that it had begun accepting fiat currencies through Alipay and WeChat.
Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, Binance’s CEO, clarified that Binance was not working directly with WeChat or Alipay, and users are still able to use them for peer-to-per transactions.
The announcement by Alipay comes after Binance’s peer-to-peer trading for Bitcoin, Ether, and Tether using the Chinese Yuan as the base fiat currency launched.
The People’s Bank of China was anticipated to being close to launching its own Cryptocurrency, however, last month, the bank shattered those rumors into oblivion, claiming that there was no specific launch date for the digital currency. What do you think? Let us know on our Facebook Page!
