CryptoTraders Pro discovers ledger hardware wallet bug and has found a solution! Matthew, one of our leads here at Cryptotraders Pro, recently discovered a massive technical bug in the Ledger wallet. We are happy to announce that our community worked swiftly to raise this issue to the Ledger themselves and has resulted in a patch in their code to rectify this issue next week.
Matthew first noticed a problem with sending cryptocurrency to a BTC address and put it on Twitter. You can follow him here and read the thread.
I just sent a $1300 $BTC transaction from my @LedgerHQ and was charged a .14977 BTC FEE, about $517 in FEES!!
It said 2 sats/byte fees when I clicked send.
I’ve used Ledger almost daily & never had this problem.
Where is my money @LedgerHQ ??? WTF 😡https://t.co/n0zSbsKpPl pic.twitter.com/x1XOAV2f4M

Matthew tried to send out .33 BTC to an address, and found that nearly .14977 BTC was taken out for fees. For laymen, Matt tried to send about $1300, and was charged $517 in fees. Matt knew something was wrong, so he took to Twitter.
With CryptoTraders Pro’s massive online audience of 50,000 users on our Facebook page and a robust Pro community, we were able to garner attention to this matter and bring it to the attention of Ledger themselves.
What follows is the conversation between Matt and Ledger Support.
With our community’s help in raising the profile of this issue, Matthew and Ledger were able to communicate back and forth, find the crux of the issue, and resolve it. This fix will result in a patch that will be updated for ALL Ledger users in the future, so what happened to Matthew won’t happen to others.
We want to take this time to thank Ledger Hardware Wallet and their support team for their expedient help in fixing this issue. In the end, Matthew was able to properly get his BTC sent out and wasn’t .14977 BTC.
