This figure corresponds to 18 times more Bitcoin than what was mined in total during the day. Grayscale’s total investment in Bitcoin is worth $23 billion dollars.
93% of Grayscale’s funds came from so-called institutional investors such as corporations and super-rich individuals. Institutional interest is usually seen as an important factor for a high Bitcoin price. Grayscale buying large amounts of Bitcoin bodes well for those who are hoping for new all time highs in the price of cryptocurrency.
