PolkaDOT overtakes XRP in market valuation! PolkaDOT overtakes XRP with $16.8 billion in market capitalization, beating XRP’s market cap by over $4 billion.
Before December 23, 2020, Polkadot had a market capitalization of just under $4.5 billion and an average price of $4.70. Between then and January 3rd, the token has soared more than 100% to close at $10.35.
The token dipped under $10.35 to $7.61 on January 11. Shortly after this retreat, the token went on to rally, displacing XRP.
The displacement of XRP from its fourth position by DOT comes as the former continues to get delisted by exchanges. Since the delisting has begun, XRP has plunged from over $0.60 to the current price of $0.28.
Kraken exchange has announced that they will halt trading of the XRP token on January 29th – but only for US customers. This will undoubtedly add more pressure on the token. What do you think? Let us know on our Facebook page!
