Tron Receives US Government Relief Funds! Tron receives US government relief funds through the Coronavirus Relief program. Reportedly, the money will be used for salary protection to help shield US based companies from the economic impact of the Coronavirus. It is important to note that many businesses have had problems accessing this aid.
Some speculated that, in China anyway, many might misinterpret the award of the grant as an endorsement of the company by the US government. Some would even interpret this as a savvy move.
This was, instead, met with intense outrage on Twitter. Many US Businesses have encountered roadblocks getting federal assistance, and many are questioning why Tron was receiving this emergency funding.
The US Federal Reserve has also been accused of propping up companies it had previously warned typical financial institutions not to touch. Some blockchain startups as a result have been refused grants.
Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, moved Tron’s operations to San Francisco after Beijing banned all ICOs and local cryptocurrency exchanges in 2017. His decentralized empire comprises DLive, Bittorrent, and Steemit Inc.
