2 Trillion Coronavirus Stimulus Bill deal reached! The 2 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill negotiations have both republicans and democrats in the Senate agreeing to its passage. At roughly $2 trillion, this would be the largest economic package ever approved by Washington.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that the likelihood of another bill is likely. He told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that “I think the odds are high we’re going to have to do something again… We have to see in the next few weeks what other problems haven’t been solved.”
He said further “This bill is a good bill, it doesn’t have everything I like in it. And there are a few things in it I don’t like. But overall, we need it.”
The senate is expected to reconvene at noon today to begin the process of passing this historic $2 trillion dollar economic stimulus package. The bill is expected to pass the Senate and then head to the House for a vote before being sent to President Trump for his signature.
The final language is still being crafted, but the package includes a one-time payment of $1,200 per adult and $500 per child, $367 billion for small businesses, $500 billion for loans to larger industries, $100 billion for hospitals and the health care system, and $600 more per week in unemployment benefits for those out of work.
