Google Play Store takes down several crypto related apps!   The Google Play Store has even taken down CoinTelegraph’s app!

As of 2:00 PM EST, apps of crypto news sites including Cointelegraph and CoinDesk were unavailable on the Play Store.

CoinTelegraph was unable to receive a comment from Google and says that they were not contacted about the planned removal.

The Play Store has done this in the past, with December seeing MetaMask being taken down.  Dan Findlay told CoinTelegraph:

“I very much hope that this was an honest mistake on the part of Google’s reviewers, but in combination with all the crypto YouTube bans, it definitely puts me at disease about how Google is engaging with decentralizing technologies.”

The Google Play store had also previously banned several crypto mining apps, and Google has, in the past, shut down crypto related YouTube videos and channels
