Samsung prioritizes blockchain! Samsung Electronics has reiterated its focus for blockchain as a part of its 10-year strategy. Along with blockchain, artificial intelligence and 6G is among the other focuses of the company’s roadmap.
Jay Y. Lee, the company’s vice chairman, is seen as the face of Samsung. He was in meetings last week with company executives about collaboration opportunities with tech platforms. The tech giant is willing to invest and work with companies to build up the budding technologies. Samsung has already made significant progress with Nexledger, a blockchain platform for enterprises and business.
Ledger has also seen nearly $3 million dollars from Samsung – the exploration by Samsung of hardware wallets is directly responsible for Samsung to integrate a crypto wallet into its Galaxy S10 mobile phone – dubbed “Samsung Blockchain Wallet”.
Samsung also sees the race for 6G already beginning, as 5G has just started to break ground. Samsung is truly looking towards the future and how progress is measured internally to guide its external actions. To this end, Lee said:
“We should challenge ourselves with a resolution to make new foundations, moving beyond the scope of protecting our past achievements.”
Blockchain is crucial towards fulfilling Lee’s wishes. Some companies fear moving forward in the fear of the volatility of blockchain and cryptocurrency. Not Samsung.
