Mark CZ’s words: 2019 cryptocurrency mass adoption will happen! 2019 might be the year that spearheads mass adoption, according to the CEO of Binance, Chanpeng Zhao. 2019 will be the year cryptos finally achieve true mass adoption – something that we’ve been touting here at CryptoTradersPro. CZ made his remarks to The Street in an interview.
The crypto market was supposed to have a good year in 2018. We know that hasn’t come to fruition. But technology has improved. We know this because companies like Ripple have made leaps and bounds with their partnerships. In fact, as of writing this piece, XRP is in second place by total marketcap, overtaking the former 2nd place heavyweight Ethereum.
But from where does CZ see 2019 to be the year for mass adoption? Binance. Binance is one of the largest exchanges in the world, and the most popular exchange, and that position allows CZ a unique look into how the ecosystem grows. CZ said that the company is continuously working to make sure the exchange is better, more secure, and covers the full spectrum of the industry.
CZ intimated that Binance has a few tricks up its sleeve, but wouldn’t divulge that information. CZ said that he is emboldened by the fact that crypto exchanges have become the focus of the spotlight for gauging the growth of the cryptocurrency ecosystem – he believes that that makes the future brighter. The ecosystem of the future, he believes, starts with the crypto exchange.
Changpeng Zhao also took a look back at the past year. CZ expressed his satisfaction with the current year, saying that 2018 is basically a “build year” – a challenging period to prepare the market for future growth. He confessed that had a bear market not precipitated, Binance would have suffered and found it hard to handle the resulting trading volume driven by a bullish market.
CZ is also very confident in institutional money from the US flooding in – despite Europe enjoying a faster rate of crypto adoption.
Like all businesses, Binance has a plan for the future. However, CZ didn’t disclose everything outright. He did offer up some clues – he said that the exchange is focusing more on short-term goals. CZ envisions a future where Binance follows in the footsteps of Google, and hopes to turn Binance into a verb!
