PornHub adds USDT as a payment option! PornHub adds USDT – a US pegged stablecoin. This comes after PayPal terminated their relationship with PornHub in late 2019.
According to a blog post, PornHub supports USDT to allow instant and zero-fee payments via the crypto wallet and browser extension TronLink.
TronLink is the native wallet for Tron (TRX), the 12th largest cryptocurrency by marketcap and is backed by the Tron Foundation. USDT became available on the Tron Network after Tether and the Tron Foundation collaborated last year. The fruits of that partnership has resulted in the first Tron-based USDT tokens.
Models must download the TronLink wallet app that is available on the Apple Store and Google Play. Alongside Tether, PornHub supports the Cosmo Payment system.
Justin Sun commented that this new partnership between PornHub and USDT offers a good way to support “victims of centralized payment platforms like PayPal.”
Infamously, PayPal and PornHub were in the news last year when PayPal pulled their support for PornHub models in November of 2019. According to reports, PayPal stopped doing business with the site because PornHub purportedly made some payments without its permission.
Porn was responsible for a lot of technological advancement in the past – VHS and DVDs included – could they be responsible for Crypto Adoption? Famously, they partnered with Verge (XVG) – they started accepting the cryptocurrency as payment.
